Updated: Jun 24

Dear KAPSC Families,  We hope you are all well and finally enjoying the warmer and sunnier weather. Please see some information regarding your child and our school below.

Warmer Weather Now that the weather is starting to get warmer, please ensure that your children wear appropriate clothing including a sunhat and comfortable footwear for the warmer weather. Please ensure that your child brings a labelled water bottle to school so that they are able to hydrate throughout the day. Can parents also ensure that children have applied sunscreen before school on any exposed areas.

Y6 SATs Breakfast Y6 will be having their SATs tests during the week beginning 12 May 2025. We wish them luck and success during this time and are confident that all the children will do really well. We ask children to arrive for 7.30am when Y6 only will be allowed into the hall area. The usual school opening time will be 7.40am for the remainder of the school.

Bike & Scooter Storage Areas As a result of the warmer weather, more children are either riding bikes or scooting to school. This is lovely and great for the children to get some exercise in the fresh air. As a result, we will be opening the middle gated area between both playgrounds so that bikes and scooters can be ‘parked’ here. The gate will be opened at the beginning of the day by Mr Okeke - our site manager and will remain locked throughout the day. It will then be unlocked at the end of the school day for parents and children to retrieve their bikes and scooters. Please refer to the list below to understand which year groups should use their allocated spaces below: Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 - Middle Bike Area Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 - Lower Ground Bike Racks

Attendance Matters You may have noticed the new signage around the school office and playground areas. The impact of absence from school on children cannot be overstated. Whether it’s due to illness, family emergencies, or other reasons, sporadic, prolonged, or frequent absence from school can have far-reaching consequences on a child’s academic progress, social development, and overall well-being. For example, did you know: At primary school, children who attend school nearly every day in Year 6 (95- 100% attendance) are 30% more likely to reach the expected standard in reading, writing and maths compared to similar pupils who attend 90-95% of the time. Best wishes

Mrs Pandya
